As many of our members know, the social committee recently held a virtual cooking demonstration with Catherine Leyden from Virgin Media (formerly TV3) and Odlums (thanks Patricia!). Over 40 members joined the call on the night and everyone who joined had their mouths watering by the end of the call.

Catherine showed us some ideas for tasty snacks we can make a home to eat on the golf course. She showed us how to make:

• Orange & Apricot Bars
• Peanut Butter Cookies
• No-Bake Energy Balls
• Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Catherine has kindly shared the recipes for these tasty recipes with us and you can all find it below. She also mentioned the health benefits of Amaranth Bars which can be found at amarantia.ie.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our brand-new website! After many months of hard work and dedication, we are delighted to announce the launch officially. The new site launch is available, and the URL is www.athenrygolfclub.net

Our goal with this new website is to provide an easier way to learn about Athenry Golf Club's offerings to visitors and new members. It will allow visitors to browse information about the course, pro-shop, and restaurant and allow members to easily view information about the club, fixtures, results and announcements.

The two main features we are most excited about are:

• Online Golf Shop: Sean Whelan now has an online shop where you can buy gift vouchers, order golf equipment, and browse his stock. A limited offering is live now, but Sean and his team will continuously be populating and updating the online shop over the coming weeks
• Course Status: Indicator on the website updated each day to tell members of the course is open/closed

Amongst the new features, the site also contains integrated social media buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to foster improved communication with the members and visitors. We will continuously be updating our content with helpful information, articles, blogs, newsletters, and announcements. Finally, we will be launching a new members section of the website in the coming weeks.

We hope you find the new website with a fresh look, easy to access information, and we also wish to establish this portal as a source of information for those who visit our site.

We would also like to thank our volunteers who have made the new website a reality. We want to thank Martin Hynes and Thomas Reaney, who have both been working directly with Clubnet web designers to make the website a reality. We would like to thank the wider Communications Committee for their design ideas to improve the website and populating all the information into the new website. We hope our members and visitors will enjoy visiting the new website.
